Details:

The Riot Racing Big Bore Throttle body has a 68mm Bore size with a low profile throttle arm and a throttle plate with reverse angles to ensure a proper seal as well as increase the air velocity.

Using our superior fixture designed on a $15,000 Cmm machine we have been able to achieve a bore on the obd2 throttle body that no other company including Dinan was able to safely achieve. Because of our special technique we were able to modify the stock throttle body to a 68mm bore size without compromising any strength or wall thicknesses. Even though the wall thickness appears to be small, the wall thickness on the Dinan unit is less then half the thickness of the Riot Racing unit.

Using an Aluminum throttle plate we have been able to achieve a non restrictive air path and ensure a safe strong air tight seal between the throttle plate and the throttle housing. The throttle plate being used had to be made from stamped Aircraft grade Aluminum. The picture below is the Riot Racing Throttle plate placed on a high magnification comparitor to demonstrate the angle on the side of the throttle plate. An identical reverse angle is on the opposite side.

We have developed a product that is brushed between the throttle plate and the throttle housing, this black "paint like" adhesive is used to keep your idle operating at the factory position. Do NOT remove this under any circumstances. If you prefer an idle of 800+ r.p.m. we can build the Big Bore Throttle body to a special specification in order to efficently achieve this.

This picture is the stock BMW throttle plate, wedecided to inslude this picture for those of you that have not seen the black sealant that BMW has placed on the factory throttle plate. The black adhesive we use is the same product that BMW uses.

Performance Increase: The first noticeable increase will be the faster revs of the rpm. Faster Revving will allow you to lower your 0-60 and quarter mile times, not to mention lower your lap times significantly. The increase in size of the Throttle body has increased the volume of air that enters the engine by 11%, this increase is what produces the horsepower and faster revving of the R.P.M. The Riot Racing throttle body is an improved in size compared to Dinan's as well as other competitors. Dinan's bore is only a 2mm upgrade over stock, where the Riot Racing throttle body is 4mm over stock. Custom larger bores are no longer available.
